Will silicone hose hold up to brake fluid? Silicone hose is a special silicone tube for medical use. The characteristics of general silicone hoses are similar to those of ordinary food-grade silicone rubber hoses or industrial silicone rubber hoses. However, due to the medical application of medical silicone rubber hoses, there are special requirements for some aspects of silicone tube in different situations. So, what are the restrictive requirements for the use of medical silicone tube? Do I need to test the hose’s hydrochloric acid resistance when using it?
First of all, the silicone tube is suitable for the following solvents: weak corrosive drugs, acetaldehyde reagents, animal and vegetable oils, glucose, alcohol, hand sanitizer, blood, weak alkali gases and other solvents.
Not suitable for organic solvents such as high concentration sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, nitric acid, lubricating oil, silicone oil, mineral oil, gasoline, diesel oil, hydraulic oil, carbon tetrachloride and high concentration ozone.
In short, if the silicone hose needs a potion, and the potion has a certain acidity and alkalinity, the hose needs to be resistant to hydrochloric acid. If the medical silicone rubber hose needs to be sterilized with alcohol before use, it needs to be resistant to alcohol. If sterilized with ozone, the silicone hose must have a certain amount of ozone resistance.
